ARTIST STATEMENT
My artwork depicts a certain view of social, cultural and environmental issues, while also often referencing nature both historically and in current events. Whether the content may be more direct or symbolic, there’s always an underlying message to be conveyed: be kind, live in the moment, learn from the past and/or leave things better than how you found them.
I use a variety of materials and processes in each series, my techniques are consistent; while there may not always be similarities in the mediums of different pieces, my work is linked by reoccurring visual elements.
To this end, the subject matter showcases a certain awareness that as an artist, is the backbone of work: visually communicate passionate issues that will help make the difference I would like to see in the world.
